Office Decor Tips & Inspo

There is no better feeling than starting a new job and having the chance to show people how much you have to offer. It's a fresh start and you have the ability to make the best of it.

Another great thing about a new job means turning that dreary office desk into your own little slice of paradise. Because let's get real for a second, you're going to be spending majority of your day at that desk so might as well make it your own. But be forewarned when it comes to making extreme changes to your work space, make sure you run it by your boss first!

I wanted to post some inspo pictures that I personally love for office decor. I think it is smart to get the following items:

- Letter Tray with numerous slots
- Pencil holder
- Mouse pad
- Frame turned into white board
- Faux flowers
- Cute coffee mug

And then whatever else you would like to add is perfect as well! Those are just my essentials that I feel you can never go wrong with. I personally love to keep my decor colors light and sweet. Colors like white, gold, pink, and cream are always great color selections. By keeping your office colors light and cheerful this will translate to how you feel during the day. Great office decor will help you feel at home and happy, so in return you will feel motivated.

So freshen up that office and make it your own! Tag me in your office inspo pictures on Instagram @modern_minimalist !!

Summer 2015 Inspo Board

So last summer I wrote a blog post about some of my favorite photos that I use for fashion inspiration. I personally love inspo boards because you can use them for anything! Whenever you have a goal that you want to reach or something that is important to you, make a collage of everything that is connected to it. You can use this as motivation to get to any goal you might have.

I've used inspo boards to motivate myself to become more open to new fashion styles and help me organize my list of clothes to add to my wardrobe. I've also used inspo boards to stay motivated in being positive and mentally strong. I've clipped photos that were connected to any of those thoughts and that would trigger something positive within me. That's the key and once my collage of photos and thoughts are complete, I put them in a beautiful frame and leave it somewhere in my room where I can see it everyday.

My small inspo post for today will be a collection of photos that have really caught me eye and inspired me to coordinate new styles. I hope you enjoy and try out an inspo board, you'll be surprised how powerful they can be.

Have a beautiful day!

New Year, New Clothes

Minimalist Style is Key.

2015 make way for some new trends that are making my heart skip a beat! A couple days after New Years I decided to go through every single piece of clothing I owned and just get rid of what I did not wear in the past year. I felt like I needed to cleanse my closet of dreadful trends that I never wanted to see again. As a 24 year old, I've found it very necessary to own pieces of clothing that are not only durable, but also easily able to be worn with other pieces. Save yourself the strain on your wallet and take my advice.

Go through every single item of clothing and think to yourself, "When was the last time I wore this and can I honestly see myself wearing it again??" If you say no or even have a little bit of hesitation then throw it in the garbage bag. You'll thank me later. All of the times that I hesitated on getting rid of clothes, they just sat in my closet and collected dust.

You might cringe after you see huge bags of clothes that you will be getting rid of, but its all for a good cause. Once I've sorted through everything, I always donate my gently used clothes. Someone out there could get great uses out of clothes that you might have never worn before!

Take the time to rebuild your wardrobe. You want to fill the spaces with pieces that are made of good quality. You might need to splurge but here are some pieces that you should most definitely splurge on:

- Heavy, yet professional winter coat
- Pair of black heels
- Tailored blazer
- Slim fit jeans
- Cashmere sweater
- Watch
- Sleek handbag
- Leather moto jacket
Put your money into these items because you will have them for years to come and they are items in your wardrobe that can be versatile. Whether its for business or leisure, these pieces of clothing can be dressed up or down.

Sometimes less is really more ladies! Ciao!
